Screens and refresh rate
A clearer, smoother screen
What it means
A clearer, smoother screen
Try the refresh rate
Compare the illustrated frame spacing at 60 and 120 Hz.
Notice smoother scrolling
Higher refresh can make supported scrolling smoother.
Check screen comfort
Brightness, text size and flicker comfort also matter.
Before you buy
Refresh rate describes motion updates. It does not prove brightness, colour accuracy, touch response or comfort. Try the screen yourself.

AMOLED vs LCD
AMOLED and OLED screens light each pixel on its own, so blacks are truly black and colours look richer. LCD screens use a backlight and are cheaper to make.
Refresh rate
A 120 Hz screen redraws twice as often as a 60 Hz one. Scrolling Instagram or a news feed feels smoother. Above 120 Hz, the difference is mostly noticeable in supported games.
Resolution
Full HD+ looks sharp on any phone. HD+ screens can look slightly soft on large displays, especially for reading text.
Brightness
Higher peak brightness makes the screen easier to read outdoors in Indian summer sun. Compare brightness only when both makers measure it the same way.
